"open" like GSM probably, not open like actually fully public or like open source.
I mean hardware other than huawei being extant is probably a good thing but idk if I care like, at all. Maybe it will make the inner workings of carriers less mysterious, which would be good. This testing center thing is just some pork barrel shit for Dallas though, forcing every company that wants to make this O-RAN equipment to basically open a Texas office?
I really hope China embraces this for cellular tech soon. I really want p2p wireless mesh nets becoming the norm across the world.
