Picard gets zapped with a computer beam and lives out a life as a really boring guy on the Alien Town set with the weirdly placed staircase thst Data blows up in The Ensign of Command. Without his consent. And then he just kinda goes about his boring ass business and in the end it turns out he wasn't thst guy. It's like DS9's Hard Time minus the plot. I guess he learns the recorder.

I think it had a lot of potential, but they were just really bad at consequences, which is what that kind of plot needs to really pay off.

Same with him being assimilated, being tortured, being possessed like four times - it just gets dropped for ages until they do a similar episode and remember to mention it. I don't think he even talks much to Troi about it.

Made sense for Kirk who had the part of his brain responsible for self reflection with an increased computer outsmarting lobe. When Kirk goes to sleep he forgets the previous week.
