What I want to know is how i as a Canadian am also suffering from trickle down economics and subsistence wages? Did Reagan bend over and fuck the whole world?
Our rigged market capitalist system found its stride in Reagan's deregulation and successful sale to the Citizens of the falsehood of "trickle down" supply side economics, and our oligarchs have been exporting it ever since in their need for infinite growth/metastasis.
It's an easy sell. A faustian bargain. You just need a few people in the right positions of power. "Hey, YOU can live larger. You can live like a modern pharoah. Just sell out your countrymen. Do you like yachts? How about yachts the size of cruise ships?"
We don't just bully the world militarily. We enforce our will through strong arm diplomacy and economic threats as well.
We work to turn governments from servants of their people into servants of the global capital markets. There are always people willing to betray their countrymen for a cut. Those people tend to be in powerful positions because of that ambition.
At this point the global oligarchs know no national loyalty. Capital is their nationality.
