I've been thinking of doing a Ralph Bakshi night but all of his cartoons are extremely horny.

Bakshi was a goddamn genius who was brave enough to ask "what if cats were just as horny but construction workers with human dicks and tits?" And then doubled his his artistic impact by accidentally giving a pedophile a huge platform to attract children.

Wait what

The short-short version, which might leave out some important details:

Ralph Bakshi launched Jon Kidsfeelgoodsy's career with a revival of the Jetsons and got him some major recognition working on Mighty Mouse: The New Adventures.

Using recognition from Ralph Bakshi projects, Jon K and a number of other animators formed Spümcø and created Ren and Stimpy. Ren and Stimpy influenced a lot of young animators who idolized Jon K and who were into a rather unhealthy (albeit, incredibly entertaining) style of animation.

After being fired by Nickelodeon, Jon K remained a cartoon icon for the obscure masses. Unfortunately, Jon K used his celebrity and the youth/weirdness of these aspiring animators to begin grooming and sexually abusing them as teenagers in the late '90s. Jon K eventually released a non-apology in 2018 admitting that he was a serial abuser but it wasn't his fault because he has poor impulse-control.

Since 2006, Kricfalusi has maintained a personal blog dedicated to cartoons and animation. There, he popularized the term "CalArts style", a pejorative which was later used by others to criticize a widespread 2010s cartoon aesthetic.

Huh, there's a connection I never would have thought would be made.

I was always really drawn to Jon K's unique approach to animation and it really sucked to learn he was a piece.

~~Yeah you know there's gotta be someone out there getting worked up over those 13 dwarves~~

E) Was thinking Rankin/Bass with that one, Bakshi did the 1978 LoTR movie

[–] Aryuproudomenowdaddy@hexbear.net 10 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

Yeah I think LotR was probably his least horny movie just because there's really not that many women he could put in bikinis, but most of his work has at least one Holi Wood type character.

Lord of the Rings is entirely non horny and Wizards is just sorta horny (I think, I've promised to never ever watch that movie without psychedelics or ketamine)

That's about it tho. Which by Bakshi standards is saying a lot

[–] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 15 points 2 years ago (1 children)

This movie was something def not meant to be seen by a child me but I loved it and it's unhinged horniness.

[–] SpiderFarmer@hexbear.net 5 points 2 years ago

Yeah, I watched this on family movie night. I think the assumption at the Blockbuster was that this was just something like Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

[–] comrade_pibb@hexbear.net 10 points 2 years ago

Jessica Rabbit's boobs walked so Cool World could run

[–] doublepepperoni@hexbear.net 7 points 2 years ago (1 children)

The game doesn't seem too bad to me from what I've seen. It's about as edgy as Bart Simpson

[–] Sinistar@hexbear.net 7 points 2 years ago

The worst thing about it was that my first thoughts on seeing gameplay were: "another Fortnite clone".
