Remember the Supreme Court has no way to enforce its rulings (that it gave itself the power to make). Which means it’s less “seizing” the power and more telling Democrats to hand it over, to which Democrats readily comply despite publicly moaning about it.
If the President had a spine they’d just ignore the Supreme Court. Obviously it helps to have enough Senators on their side to avoid getting convicted in case of impeachment.
There is already a precedent of the President ignoring the Supreme Court and in true American fashion, it is about ignoring a good decision in favor of doing genocide.
