I tried subscribing to !programmerhumor@lemmy.ml, but it just says 'pending subscription'. Is there a feature where moderators have to accept your subscription? or is this simply a loading message? (Refreshing does nothing)

Oh, this is probably it then, I remember reading about them being overloaded. I didn't actually now subscriptions were related to the target instance, rather than the user's instance🤷‍♂️
