If you find an injured owl:

Note your exact location so the owl can be released back where it came from. Contact a licensed wildlife rehabilitation specialist to get correct advice and immediate assistance.

Minimize stress for the owl. If you can catch it, toss a towel or sweater over it and get it in a cardboard box or pet carrier. It should have room to be comfortable but not so much it can panic and injure itself. If you can’t catch it, keep people and animals away until help can come.

Do not give food or water! If you feed them the wrong thing or give them water improperly, you can accidentally kill them. It can also cause problems if they require anesthesia once help arrives, complicating procedures and costing valuable time.

If it is a baby owl, and it looks safe and uninjured, leave it be. Time on the ground is part of their growing up. They can fly to some extent and climb trees. If animals or people are nearby, put it up on a branch so it’s safe. If it’s injured, follow the above advice.

Found this reposted article on MSN which just turned out to be a bit on a BBC Earth video.

The video is pretty neat to check out either way. You get to see a Snowy family and watch them divebomb some overly curious hungry puppies with those chonky feet. Cute baby Snowies are there too. It's a quick 2 min clip, or skip to 58 seconds to get right to the action.

When it comes to protecting their young these wild animals sure step it up. Size and strength aren’t in the picture… just how much the mother is willing to fight.

Snowy owls are one of the most distinctive and recognizable species of birds, known for their distinctive white plumage and bright yellow eyes. These beautiful birds are found in the Arctic tundra and are one of the few species of birds that can tolerate the harsh and cold conditions up there.

Snowy owls are rather large birds, with wingspans that can reach up to five feet, and they are powerful hunters. They feed on a variety of prey, including small mammals, birds, and fish and are known for their fierce territorial instincts. Snowy owls will defend their nests and hunting grounds against perceived threats, making them formidable predators in their environment.

Looks so funny. An owl in the pose of „imma fock yo up!“

Its adorable quirkiness hides a real baddass!

She snags a big foot-fist full of fur out of that wolf's rear end at 1:06!

We got all kinds of antibiotics and doctors and such, but a gash from those owl tootsies can end up being fatal in the great outdoors.
