Boss has asked me to come in on Monday. Yaaaay I need the money! Especially after doing all the back to school essentials shopping yesterday. Today we buy uniforms πΈElder is a temporarily awkward shape, so I have to take him to try them on for size. Those classic grey school tailored type pants look fairly unforgiving and the size guide on the website was hard to interpret. His inseam, waist and hip measurements all suggested different sizes for pantsπ€¦π»ββοΈ
The waist measurement on those sort of trousers is fairly flexible - a belt can work to do adjustments. If Elder is up for it, braces can be a fashion statement. Does the school have a second hand shop for uniforms? Fast turnover of garments due to rapid growth means there may be a good selection.
No no no. Braces are NOT a fashion statement on a near teenage boy.
No Urkels. π€
Definitely not
The school doesn't have a uniform shop or second hand shop. They encourage everyone to use the dedicated Facebook community, and I don't do Facebook. I don't really want to start a Facebook account just to access second hand uniforms. I guess Miniest is going to the same school eventually so I'll just do as I did in primary school, and buy new garments for Elder and hand them down to Miniest. Luckily she doesn't care. I can organise a state schools relief fund voucher ($85 I think) which will help out a bit.
There's often a lot of those in op-shops. Both cheap and variety of sizes.
Believe it or not, there are no op shops, second hand stores or the like in that area. My local op shop sometimes has uniforms for the local primary schools or girls college.
