I loved Ground Zeroes despite the overt edginess and Kojima dumping David Hayter for Kiefer Sutherland. It seemed they were going for something really intense and interesting, then Phantom Pain came out and the story was mostly a meandering snoozefest with boring characters
The game itself was really well made and the individual mechanics had a lot of thought put into them, but the narrative didn't do anything for me and I felt like Kojima kind of wasted his last go at MGS
I hated MGS4, loved Peace Walker despite its PSP limitations, was really hyped to see where Ground Zeroes was headed and then found myself just shrugging my shoulders by the ending of MGSV
