Sooo, then, no issue with carbon tax if you've "paid down" that mortgage and upgraded. Or has someone not put money to mouth on that upgrade?
And if you're upgrading just to save that carbon tax - because in years without it we see what upgrades you didn't do - then it appears the carbon levy is effective in preserving SOME kind of a planet for your kids. If protecting the land is new to you, find an indigene and ask them about their consistent 'shepherds of the land since always' image in the media.
