It's because they were raised by commercials and never learned what an actual personality is

The funny thing is that the "I'm A Mac, and I'm a PC" ads didn't work as well as Apple wanted because in every place they did it, they made the PC actor someone who resonated more with the audience, while they pickedHell, the British version had the two guys from Peep Show and they made Jezz the Mac guy
When I was a kid I always thought it was meant to be a pro PC and anti Mac.
It's why they stopped doing them
The intended audience was basically like "I hate this smug asshole, I prefer John Hodgman"
There's not really a good choice between Mark and Jezza so I commend them for the incredible bit
It's especially funny because I'm pretty sure Jezza had a MacBook in the show and was always having it break or get stolen
It's literally the chad/virgin meme
