Are we gonna cancel Batman now?

You fuckers are so dim. Critiquing media and art has been around forever, but you're so afraid of contradictions at this point you start crying about cancel culture whenever anyone brings up the most low level analysis. It's so fucking stupid lmao

[–] kowcop@aussie.zone 6 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Sorry, should have put lmao at the end of my message..

[–] Grandpa_garbagio@hexbear.net 14 points 2 years ago (1 children)

This is another dumb guy thing. No response to the content of the message so you point out that grammar is fucky on the internet and disregard the rest of it. It's classic redditor shit, merry christmas, happy holidays, and do better

No, I was pointing out that you seem to need a visual queue to understand sarcasm.. might have saved you some time instead of needing to go on a rant

[–] ProfessorOwl_PhD@hexbear.net 11 points 2 years ago (1 children)

You're going to have to provide a lot more than a visual queue to explain what's meant to be sarcastic about "cancel batman lmao".

This is Hexbear. How often do most of us signal sarcasm here?

[–] ProfessorOwl_PhD@hexbear.net 4 points 2 years ago

Oh, almost never, I'm just saying that here the knowledge it's meant to be somehow sarcastic doesn't actually make their intent for the comment clear.
Are they trying to mock the idea of cancelling? Of cancelling such a popular character? Of cancelling a fictional character? Of cancelling Batman specifically?
Why make it sarcastic? What makes it sarcastic? Is it actually sarcastic, or is this person a CHUD hiding behind the idea of saying things you don't mean as a defence?
Why are @kow***cop***@aussie.zone's replies just saying it's sarcasm instead of trying to articulate anything about their viewpoint?

it's all just a bit amogus

[–] Grandpa_garbagio@hexbear.net 2 points 2 years ago

Yeah maybe I guess. I don't usually need it, because there's generally some sort of joke or exaggeration involved with sarcasm.

It just didn't strike me as a bit, my b

It’s made billions of dollars. No one is getting “cancelled” though it should be

[–] Hohsia@hexbear.net 6 points 2 years ago

I sure hope Batman was never not cancelled to begin with
