I remember reading the sentence isn't about the hack, he's not considered competent to be tried with that. The confinement is because he's repeatedly injured psych staff, and had a history of stalking and harassing women prior to this. And he's due to get reevaluated every 6 months.

I may be wrong about this because I didn't look into it with a lot but on hasan stream he said the guy stalking women was another guy, linked to the same hacking group
