I can believe this, the only time I've seen a tick on a human was after my gf had been sat in the garden, in long grass in a synthetic dressing gown.

I remember the visceral horror and confusion of me climbing into bed, patting her butt and feeling what felt like a huge mole on her ass that I had never seen before, then seeing this odd grey lump on her ass.

We're now rather attentive at performing tick checks on each other.

Ticks were never an issue where I live until a few yrs ago, and then when I started seeing comments about people needing to check their cracks on reddit, I thought it was a joke. Big surprise to me when my partner said we needed to check ALL our creases.

I pretty much thought they were an American/continental Europe/Asia thing, I hadn't really heard of them being a risk in the UK prior to seeing it on my GF. I only thought they were a risk in areas with high deer populations, which I don't exactly have in my back garden.
