Let’s take a trip on DMT. Welcome to the Dank Microwave Taco or DMT for short. Anything and everything goes in here. Be sure to share your experience on DMT with your friends, family and social media. @WiggleHard bans nothing and exiles nobody (Dont doxx wolfballs users, no posting of porn/nudes or foot fetish material unless it involves political scandals, no ads for sex sites or dating sites; do that on your own time, no solicitation for pyramid scams, no posting job advertisements unless from official job sites, no posts supporting pedophilia, not all love is love) also: (we cannot allow violations of the patriot act concerning how we speak, no calls for violence, suggesting you are personally harming someone ect. These things are not free speech protected by law but actually against the law and could get the website shut down.) (no spam posting, especially spam posting of what could be considered symbols of hate) examples: guy posting nazi flag 5 times in one day, guy posting “whitey is the devil over and over, im going to use my best judgement on this one rule)

Authoritarian? Lmao, shut up. Everything on sh.it is voted on by the community.

but pwweeeasssee don't make fun of a rich guy's appearance :(((

... So a theocracy can be good as long as the majority of people say "aye?"

.. and such a theocracy would then not be authoritarian..?

That's not a theocracy that's just democracy and the leader that "has" to execute these demands is the admin. But every instance has an admin so it's a moot point.

It's just mass opinion which can be good or bad doesn't really matter at least with lemmy you can leave for another instance or just be on all of them. Democracy has it's own problems but it's w/e I don't think you care about the nuance of this.

People can say no.

During the first vote to defed from EH, there were too many no's. Now after some community interaction between sh.it and EH, Sh.It is voting Yes.

[–] Lovstuhagen@exploding-heads.com 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Thanks for the information - what was it?

I remember I saw these ridiculous posts on EH where someone would b writing "I am a neonazi skinhead racist and I hate black people' etc. as the subject line... Were these things actually filtering over to sh.it and affecting people's perception?

lol, was @wigglehard's trolling a factor in this, basically?

[–] goat@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

It was yeah, there's been a few trolls as of late after the first vote.

Wiggle's behaviour doesn't help it either, no.

I believe I saw you standing up for us in some of those threads, so thank you.

I really do like wigglehard but I think... that was the opposite of what should have happened. I am not saying it would have changed the outcome necessarily, but I would have kissed ass to avoid this.

[–] goat@sh.itjust.works 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Not defending anymore though. You're the only user so far from my interactions who bothers to engage.

[–] Lovstuhagen@exploding-heads.com 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Upvoted for the compliment... I have some gratitude...

But let me also say that I think Kapow and some of the other guys are trying to populate the site with content so it makes them less engaging.

We sort of feel like we have to keep treading water.

But that is changing with all these new, wonderful users here, for which we should all be grateful.

And I am grateful that you come to post here from time to time - please keep it up.

[–] goat@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 years ago

Well I won't be able to keep it up when sh.it defederates. I'm pretty okay with that.

[–] masterofballs@exploding-heads.com 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

More than half the aye votes were recent accounts with little to no activity. It was some kinda brigading campaign. I bet almost all those accounts will drop to zero activity after they defederate. I've seen them around other instances doing the same thing. They just tried it over at manders instance. It's all so tiresome.

[–] goat@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Do you have evidence of this?

Yeah you can just browse through and click a bunch of them. A huge number of the votes are made by accounts where the only comment that account has ever made was to vote.

I really wanted to walk away and do other stuff. I had classes lined up. This will take a lot of time but I will fix this bug in the fediverse God damn it.
