Semaglutide was approved for weight loss in 2021. An increase of more than 15-fold from back when it was only used for type 2 diabetes (and keep in mind, it was only approved for that in 2017) is the sort of thing you'd expect from a large-scale adoption of a new medication.
Now, on a personal level, I take Wegovy. I had been very slowly titrating my dosage and one week I thought, "how much could it possibly hurt to increase my dosage a little more this week and go a bit faster?"
...well. There's a reason I have a ton of Gas-X and antiemetics now.
