The funniest part about the whole vampires not seeing themselves in a mirror is because mirrors were generally made from silver which is considered a "pure" metal.
Most modern mirrors are made from aluminum so a modern vampire wouldn't have this problem.
I've always heard that it was because reflections were supposedly a representation of a person's soul, which they didn't have. I always thought this was a stupid idea, even given the supernatural nature of them. Glad it's typically debunked in modern vampire stuff.
Me when my can of soda doesn't have a reflection. 👀
That reminds me - is there a writing prompt community on lemmy? I somehow want to post this fact as a writing prompt there and see what happens...
