Cuban sandwich, in that it's an inexplicably more popular variant of a regional food that should be iconic of a different region located nearby, from which most of the iconic local culture was poorly cribbed. Cuban sandwiches were stolen from Cuba, Lasagna was stolen from Greece. Same thing but different thing
