Should I be adding the "Language" tag to all of my posts and comments? (lemmy.world)

For all of my comments and posts, I have been selecting the "English" tag (side note, it would be fantastic if I could configure a default. Better yet, it would be nice if a community could set a default, and I default to that). Is this good practice? Or is this having some unintended side effect that I am not aware of? I'm guessing that it just makes filtering easier for people that filter by a language so that they only see posts of that language.

Without realizing, I tagged my last few posts as "English." If I go into my user settings and select "Undetermined" in my languages, they become invisible to me. If I select English, they become visible but now a huge number of posts on the site disappear. If I deselect ALL languages, then I can finally see most things (maybe?). It's kind of a mess and I think the safest bet is to just not select a one at all for your posts until they overhaul the languages.
