Yeah, I secretly wonder if they hired a bunch of GMs to help with creative ideas like this.

I am almost certain that a significant amount of Larians employees have run games.

Studios specialising in certain types of games tend to attract people who are already into them.

Wube is full of engineers, Arkane is (or used to be) a haven for old rpg nerds, and Riot Games attract toxic assholes like a moth to a flame.
