Unsurprisingly, this extends to Star Trek now, too. I recently finished slogging through ST: Discovery and I made the mistake of looking at IMDB episode comments. Some of the saltiest
s I have ever seen, all frothing in unison about "woke garbage." I will never understand CHUD Trekkies.
Like, there are very valid criticisms to be made about the show, its writing, some of the dubious production decisions (
redesign,
worship), and so forth, but rather than engage with any of that, they jump right to "there are feeeeeeemales on the screen that don't make my pp hard." All I fucking wanted in this world was confirmation that someone else watched that season 4 finale episode, saw who was playing the President of United Earth, and laughed their ass off.
I wish everyone a very please gatekeep your hobbies to keep them normie-proof. Furries have the right idea on embracing being "cringe" and CHUD furries are a small, small minority in the fandom as a result.
