Good Evening guys,

I’m new to the Apple TV devices. 2 weeks ago, I got the Apple TV 4K 128GB and I have been loving it thus far.

We have my fiancée’s 93 year old grandmother that lives with us, so we leave the tv on for her to watch. I’m curious if there is any way for me to control the Apple TV while I’m away from my home in case it times out?

i have a complicated solution but it works for me.

i use a switchbot hub mini as an IR blaster for me to remotely control the apple tv from outside the home. and then i split and stream its HDMI output via an IPTV encoder (can be viewed via VLC with the appropriate port forwarding configured on your router).
