As a Mavs fan, I’m so torn on this. He’s a great player, no doubt there. But there’s so many “buts” and “ifs” with him. I hope it turns out for the best with everyone involved.
As a Mavs fan, I'm very happy about this. It's a risk, but we need to take risks at this point. Donnie really screwed Luka's early years as a Mav, and Nico is picking up the pieces. Much better than losing Kyrie for nothing. Plus the deal is team-friendly at 3 years
The risky part was trading for him in the first place. Re-signing him is really the option they had. Otherwise, they'd pretty much would have to attempt a full rebuild around Luca.
I agree that we have been stagnant for way too long. Other than the trip to WCF a couple years ago, it’s been disappointing. So maybe it’s time to go all in. I do think we need some more pieces. Not necessarily another star but some more role players that can give more meaningful minutes. Either way I’m preparing myself mentally for this upcoming seasonal roller coaster
My favorite thing as a Thunder fan who has no strong feelings about the Mavs is that no matter what happens, I know it's gonna be entertaining.
Kyrie is a talented guy but fuck me, I wish he would just shut up about his flat earth and woke stuff.
I can definitely see how it’s entertaining from an outside prospective. I’d say my favorite part about the Thunder is definitely Shai and how he some how gets better every year.
I agree with the concerns but I'm still pretty happy with this. We ended up paying him less than I was expecting when we first traded for him which hopefully will give us some more flexibility.
