I’ve found myself picking up my iPad and not using the mac at all except for rare scenarios.

Should I hang onto it for the rare case I need it? Or offload it and recoup some value while it still has it?

That's something only you can truly answer . If you need money sure. I wouldn't otherwise and I'd definitely keep the REAL OS over a portable IS all day long but it depends on what you're going to need it to do once the other one is sold and gone.
