There's the slightest possibility that if Trump is kept off the ballot in Colorado (the latest decision is being appealed), then some 3rd party candidate could (again very slight possibility) win the state, causing no-one to have enough electoral votes.

Extremely unlikely for many reasons, but it would be hilarious.

Edit: lmao what if RFK Jr. demands the Vice Presidency in exchange for his electoral votes?

I think it’s technically better than just giving it to the plurality EC winner, but in a dumb and complicated way. Which is fitting since the EC is itself dumb and complicated.
