Help! I want to use it but I don’t know how or if my hard drive is the right one for it.

Edit: I have 2TB Seagate Backup Plus Slim

Yes it will work. Hook your drive up to the macbook through the USB(C) port and open the time machine app. Follow the steps from within the app.
