I’d be torn between options 2 and 3, personally. I think Harbaugh would restore respectability to the organization and might be enticed by the opportunity to continue coaching McCarthy, who is still really young and moldable. It’s easy to forget the kid isn’t even 21 yet and can still add a lot of mass to his frame. Personally, I’m ready to move on from Fields and start over, too.

I quickly eliminated 3 because it includes JJ McCarthy. If your team runs 36 straight times you have no business going in the first round the following April let alone fifth overall.

I'd take Caleb Williams first overall. I prefer Dallas Turner to Latu. Neither are good value at #5.

That was more of an indictment on how scared Michigan was coaching due to not having Harbaugh/OL concerns vs PSU’s edges.

Outside of that game (which he played well in), McCarthy has been the most efficient and explosive QB in the country on a fairly pass happy team this year so far. He’s been driving the offense in a year where RB/OL production has gone way down for UM.
