My $40 xiaomi "smart band" could automatically detect when I went to sleep and track it. For my series 9 Apple Watch to track my sleep I need to manually put it in sleep mode every night. Why? How can Apple not do it automatically?

I know that I can set a sleep schedule for it to track automatically but I don't sleep at the same hour everyday lol

Just set focus mode for when you sleep and make it turn off when you wake up. (It will automatically turn on when its bedtime.)

Idk if theres another way.
