Assuming Fields is back next week, he will have to face some pretty good defenses. First number is team defense by total yards given up and the second number is team defense by passing yards given up.

Detroit #9/#20 Minnesota #13/#16 Detroit #9/#20 Cleveland #1/#1 Atlanta #8/#10 Arizona #22/#11 Green Bay #11/#7

Detroit will be a tough match up because they have pass rushers, good run D, and will be playing with the lead most likely.

Minnesota's aggressive blitzing gave Fields trouble.

Cleveland is the toughest defense the Bears will play all year.

Atlanta and Green Bay have top 10 pass defense and Arizona is #11 in pass defense.

Fields best chance to put up a good performance will be next week against Detroit but we still don't know how healed his thumb is yet. After the 2 Detroit games it's a rough 4 games to close out the season.

I will not discuss a new QB talk till the season finishes, I feel its the utmost respect to give to someone who could potentially be gone this off-season. Fields will get my full support, however, let it be clear there is no room for excuses. He's facing top defenses? Good, that's who I want to see him perform against for me to feel confident in giving him another year potentially. Murray came back from ACL injury and dished out 200+ passing yards and won a game with a coaching staff that most cardinals fans dislike. He has 7 games and it'll be tough to win over the front office and fans if they are out on him, but if he's the guy he should be able to overcome the tough battle ahead of him. I hope he does because then we can use our picks elsewhere, Justin Fields these last games are your final shots at convincing some of doubtful people that are willing to give you one last shot that you are our guy. Make them all count!

Thank you for a reasonable post. The whole deal this year was “let’s see if Fields can prove it.”

Anytime you say you want to give Fields the full year they act like you’re a naive idiot because they want one of the other QBs.

I do think Fields still has a lot to prove but if Fields can show he can play at a top 15 QB level, you keep him and use those picks to really stack other positions (which you’d be able to!)

Top 10 really, because you can't extend a guy who peaked at Top 15.

Top 10 is harder than it sounds. Example, I think extending Trevor Lawrence is not even a debate but, is he a top 10? Remember he has to be better than one of these:

- Mahomes, Burrow, Allen, Jackson, Hurts, Herbert, Rodgers, Goff, Prescott, Cousins, Stafford

- Not even mentioning Stroud and Purdy since they're just starting out but have better numbers than him this year.
