maybe i am just too dim to understand the nuances of diplomacy but I'm kinda surprised that he's allowed by the US to do this trip. Why give China some good free PR? Is it just joever for US power already?

yes that was in the article. Maybe i'm just overthinking the act's optical aspect and the truth of the matter is that Xi really likes those people and is continuing to keep in touch
