For anyone wondering the vote to pause Carbon taxes for home heating was voted down on Monday.
The Liberals and Bloc together had enough votes to win. Quebec has the highest number of homes that use heating oil.

You linked Minister Poilievres bill to pause carbon taxes on all home heating (oil, natural gas, etc.), Nays by BQ and LPC and Green, Yeas by CPC and NDP unanimously.
This is separate from the heating oil carbon tax exemption that was announced by the LPC. And it is separate from Pierre's motion last year to exempt heating oil and propane from carbon tax.

While I think it is a misstep for Trudeau to give breaks on carbon tax and instead do something like give extra incentive for people to switch away from oil heaters, this is just the CPC capitalizing on Trudeau's mistake of granting what the Poilievre had asked for a year ago, because their aim ultimately is to fully get rid of the tax.
