I think the IDF moved to Tavor and this Galil variant awhile ago, but I'm sure they still give the old ones to cops and non-frontline soldiers.

It's not a Galil. Look at the magwell, it's "enclosed" rather than the "open" AK-style magwell of the Galil. The Galil and Tavor are well-known, but the majority of IDF soldiers are issued with the US-American M4 or M16, because they are much cheaper than the IMI weapons. The one in the photo looks like a Mk18 CQBR (basically just a CQB M4).

Thank you, that certainly looks silly and unfamiliar to me. This one must have a silly CQB short barrel.

edit: I looked again, still seems like AI. Why are there two weird strings coming back from the Muzzle Shroud to the Magazine and Receiver? Forward Grip looks silly too, but that could just be a shadow making a weird silhouette.

Edit: also, looking more, check out the forward Knee, what is the the weird dark shadow/chunk obscuring 1/4 of the leg, weird how it leaks onto the other leg too.
