I currently have Apple TV 4K 1st gen, now I’m thinking of making the jump to 3rd gen. What do you guys think? Also I just bought a Samsung UHD Crystal TV, I’m wondering if I’ll notice a difference if I switch to 3rd gen

With the TV you bought you shouldn't hunt for the 4K 2022 version anyway. The TV you bought is unfortunately their lowest low-end model cannot get bright enough or dark enough to be able to take advantage of HDR10+.
