I don't use an Apple TV, I use an Nvidia Pro streamer. I also have a hdd attached. As soon as I unplugged that and rebooted the device, it went back to "better" quality. Way less pixelation, but still not the best.

When it goes to commercials, video quality is fine.

Only complaint is the audio volume is way low compared to other sources.
