They basically soft-raised the price by $200,

Base model is now $1799 with them offering 'budget' model at $1599 with 1/2 of memory.

Yep, saw their presentation, considered upgrading my M1 MBP, then saw how "new" one has 1/2 of the memory of base model M1 I have. Quickly noped out.
