With the Optimized Battery Charging feature enabled the Apple Watch learns from your daily charging habits to improve the lifespan of the battery of the watch by reducing the time it spends fully charged.
When the feature is enabled, the Apple Watch delays charging past 80% when it predicts it will be connected to a charger for an extended period of time. In these situations, the battery remains between 75% and 80%. The algorithm aims to ensure that the watch is still fully charged when you remove it from the charger.
With the Optimized Charge Limit feature enabled the Apple Watch learns from your daily usage habits and determine when to charge to an optimized limit (80%) and when to allow a full charge. The watch might charge to 100% on some days, and to a lower value on others.
