Silent mode doesn't work since update to 10.1.1 (alien.top)

I updated my AW7 to WatchOS 10.1.1 on Tuesday, ever since then silent mode for Messages doesn't work intermittently. I have checked that silent mode is turned on in the command centre, in the Watch app on my phone, and I've also restarted the phone - same results. I had a chat with Apple Support but they weren't able to offer any solution other than to un-pair / re-pair, which in my mind is the nuclear option and I will only do that as a last resort.

It's intermittent, which makes it even tougher to troubleshoot.

I've also noticed this occur once on my iPhone since the update to iOS 17.1.1 as well.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

I am not. Is this happening only with specific contacts? If so, is it possible that you have set that contact up with an emergency bypass text tone, which will always make a sound on the watch (or phone) even in silent mode? (I have my wife and kids set up this way so that I always know when they are texting me without having to look.)

I will say that I had to factory reset and restore my iPhone 3 weeks ago, which meant unpairing and repairing both of my watches (I have a spare), and it wasn't all that bad - the worst part was having to add the Apple Pay cards back to the watch, plus I had a few watch faces duplicated for some reason when it restored.
