but i am still using the same old apps i used 5 years ago. it also seems we don't have or need many new fun apps. but the apps still become slowly over time on the old phone, even though they only have the old same features.

the camera is the only thing that's really surprising. especially at night.

What new amazing things do you need to do on a phone though? I buy phones for the new headroom in processing, not these new features that no one uses.

Of course this is a marketing issue. Most people use their phones similarly to how they did 5 years but the marketing needs to make it seem like there is something new or amazing that the phone does and there really isn't

But all the underlying processing takes up more and more power so even though the batteries get bigger they never really last longer. So we are constantly stuck in a cycle of 24 hour batteries and new useless features.
