I was at the store choosing which color I want. Really liked the blue but found an incredible amount of scratches on the back. Is this common for every day use? I assume floor models are naturally worse. This looks really bad.

If your definition of "common for every day" is hundreds of different kinds of people with different hands, mannerisms and care for such devices, the same. This is fine.
