I agree with most of this, but a few things are inaccurate or misleading. I don't know where the Center for Responsive Politics is getting its numbers, but it significantly missed the mark on percentage of millionaires in the US. The figure I'm seeing is 8.8%. Also, using net worth alone can be misleading. A young doctor could have significant student loan debt that gives them a negative net worth, but be pulling in a hefty income that puts them in the millionaire class quite quickly.

Houses are likewise a complex subject. Housing needs to be where people can use it. If a town is losing population, you're going to have a lot of "empty houses", but that doesn't mean you can just uproot a bunch of houseless people from the West Coast cities that are experiencing the worst homelessness and put them in those empty houses.

Also, "empty house" includes a wide variety of homes. Sometimes that just means that a home is in the middle of being purchased. There are people touring, signing paperwork, or in the process of moving. That doesn't mean it's move in ready for a homeless person.
