I bet it'll be along the lines of: "Taiwan and China have a long and complicated history. We won't get into that here. What you do need to know is that Taiwan is a vibrant democracy and the only country in Asia where gay marriage is legal and therefore we need to protect it. And now, a man dressed as Sun Yat Sen beating a man dressed as Winnie the Pooh with a club."
