Totally wrong. The apple tv does decode (with the help of plex or infuse, etc.) lossless codecs and output them as PCM.
What you want is a device that does not decode them and passes the lossless digital audio to a receiver which decodes them :)
True, but it wont pass along the Atmos metadata. Therefore, you´ll get Dolby True HD without any quality loss (as multichannel PCM), but lose Atmos in the process.
I know, that's my point in saying it must pass the HD audio through to the receiver to decode. Then you'll get all the goodies. :)
