hey everybody i am new on this stuff but learning i started working on my family business have an issues with their computers etc.

We have computer servers and storage, everything is slow and old, we have 7 computers, there is a technician who works on it but he doesn't want to tell us the real price of any item my father depends on him on everything on those things now he want 50,000$ for an upgrade and i think it’s a little to much i know that the server we had it’s costs 15,000$ and i was looking and now that server cost only 3000$ we know he it’s scamming us. so I want to know what do you need to have local servers with a storage source? and good computers?

i know that we have a PowerEdge R440 Rack Server

50k could be good or it could be bad.
You really need some specs to go with it to say what side it lands on.

If its a freelance tech type 1man company i would 100% expect you to be taken advantage of.
