I’ve had this watch since 2016. It has been with me through grad school, one marriage, and has helped me a lot as a nurse! After wearing it daily since I got it, it finally broke — not sure how, but here we are. Kudos to Apple to making a product that did me well for as long as this watch did!

Rest in peace, watch! Anyone else rocking a Series 1 in 2023?

Insane to me that people spend $400+ on a watch that barely scrapes by 7 years. Can someone explain this? A decent mechanical watch will last 20-30 years with 10 year servicing intervals (very cheap for a $400 watch). If you’re getting one for fitness tracking, heart monitoring, etc. I can see it. But as a watch? Why? What’s the purpose in buying a disposable watch? You could buy a $2,000 Tudor and pass it down for generations, or buy 3 Apple Watches and throw them away when they are done.
