Not sure why anyone is surprised the 3rd gen M-series chip isn’t revolutionary. It usually takes Apple 4 generations to have a really really excellent product/upgrade.

Think back.. iPod click wheel, iPhone 4, iPad 4, Apple Watch 4.. mid-2007 MacBook Pro, 2010 MacBook Air..
