  • Roquan is great
  • He wouldn't look like an impact player here because we wouldn't be using him as smartly as Baltimore is
  • The Roquan trade was fine considering the circumstances
  • The Edmunds signing was probably a mistake, but it's not like it was completely illogical to go after an atypically young free agent who ostensibly "fit the system" of your head coach, who previously coached arguably the most valuable off-ball linebacker in the league
  • It's silly to complain about the AAV of the Edmunds signing without also acknowledging that it was structured in a way that we could easily get out of it after the 2024 season, which is full two seasons earlier than Roquan's contract allows for
  • Edmunds is probably suffering to at least some degree from the same problems that made Roquan look pedestrian under Eberflus
  • The Edwards signing was real good
  • Eberflus's defensive system stinks and we need to replace him with someone who has a more dynamic and/or adaptable philosophy so we can maximize the skills of the players we have rather than hunting for The Perfect Fit at every position

There, I think that should cover all the angles of the Roquan Smith conversation. Now we never need to have it ever again

The similarity of Edwards and Edmunds’s names is giving me a headache with this
