Is Chrome Slow on MacBooks? (alien.top)

I just got a brand new Macbook Air with an M2 chip a few months ago. Ever since opening and installing chrome, the laptop seems to buffer and load. On netflix it is especially bad. Is there something wrong with my laptop? Or is Chrome simply not optimized for Macs as well?

If you have Sonoma then Chrome has some issues with it. Mostly freezing with mouse icon looking like it’s loading something.
