He thinks that budgeting for an NFL franchise is like budgeting a household. If you don't spend the money now, you can save it and spend it later. Unfortunately, an NFL franchise is much more like the US government. If you don't spend the money, the money just disappears. It doesn't help you in the future and it doesn't save anyone any money now either.
