I’m just curious if it’s because there was a particular app or a workflow that motivated you to get a MacBook? Or just the Apple ecosystem?

Genuinely just curious.

Apple silicon. It’s still the best chip on the market. Laptop is silent and lasts a lot on the battery. If Macs still had Intel I wouldn’t even consider a MacBook

I have to say after the hype with the Mac silicon I wanted to give it a try myself. The only thing I regret is the high price and being unable to replace/upgrade my ram or ssd.

But the worst thing I find is that when it will die it can’t use a macOS from external drive to boot. So basically when it dies it’s gone. 😓

Would Apple replace the SSD if it reached End of life, at a reasonable fee?

I doubt they would do a ssd replacement as it is motherboard soldered as well. It’s a tough one unfortunately. If there’s apple care is easy to get probably a new motherboard I would guess.

Let’s see what others are saying.
