I think what is interesting with a majority of the NFL fanbase, not just the Bears, is that they think a backup QB shouldn't be able to come in and win football games. Lots of these backup QBs were drafted for a reason - they have / had NFL talent.
This is a similar situation to last year when Dak Prescott went down for the Cowboys and Cooper Rush came in and kept their season alive by winning 4 games in a row (I live in Dallas). Ultimately, Rush got his first loss at the Eagles in a close game. A lot of Cowboys fans were calling for Rush to start, which was just ridiculous to me. Prescott was / is a much better player than Cooper Rush - not taking away from keeping their season alive, mind you. But just because a backup comes in and looks good, that doesn't make him the QB1.
TLDR: your backup QB should be able to win games for your team. They, too, are a professional football player.
